Kimi Kumagai
It is our pleasure to introduce one of our favorite quilters who has not only learned the intricate techniques of Hawaiian quilting but who has also learned its history and culture. Kimi has been part of the Poakalani family for over 13 years. When she first came to the class she already knew the fine techniques of sewing but was ready to learn the techniques of Hawaiian quilting. After learning to quilt Hawaiian she went further and learned to design her own quilts. We are very proud that she has earned Poakalani's two highly sought after certificates. One certificate for Quilting and the other for Teaching. Kimi now teaches in Japan. If you want to learn Hawaiian quilting, Kimi is one of the best instructors she teaches at
